I finally made it to Asia and am currently visiting Taiwan. What a wonderful country and hospitable people. My husband and I make friends wherever we go but the Taiwanese are out of our league in welcoming guests. We met someone when we rented our place in Kaohsiung for a week and he went out of his way to make us feel at home. He picked us up and showed us around his suburban town of Ping Tung which is about a 30 minute train ride from Kaohsiung. He introduced us to his family and friends who made a 10+ course meal for us at their home. We felt so touched by their warm welcome and genuine love of visitors. I have been telling my husband about ”Chinese hospitality” for a while and am so glad that he finally got to feel it in Hong Kong and here in Taiwan.
